FREE CLIMBING & BOULDERING
Expert climbers or aspiring ones, simply neophytes or children can find good sites at the top of Mount Mottarone where you can climb with ropes and mountain hooks.
Even if the Mount Mottarone is one of the least high tops of the chain of Alps, it overviews on one of the most beautiful and peculiar scenarios.
Here you can find the climbing rocks.
A small valley area surrounded by red and vertical stones.
The place is wild, at its low levels with spectacular overviews which also please the ones who don’t climb.
The climbing sites are various, all secured by spits and difficult grades from 3° to 7°.
In the nearby of this practice cliff area you can find the Parco dei Sassi, an area divided into 6 parts. The stones of the Parco dei Sassi which in some cases are over 5 mt. high, are made of a pink and grey limestone rather taught. They lay on the grass or on the sand according to the different part where they are. Their different shapes make them all interesting: every stone a challenge.
Their holes, cracks, flakes, edges, roofs and overhangs are their peculiarities.
